Register to Vote

The Office of  Secretary of State provides new voters with the ability to use the mail-in registration form. If you have Adobe Acrobat, you can fill out page 2 of the form right online, but then you must print the form and either bring it to your County Auditor's Office or mail to the Secretary of State's Office. (Detailed instructions are on page 1 of this form)

Registration deadlines

In general, you must register at least 30 days in advance of an election to be eligible to vote in that election. It is especially important to remember this deadline if you are registering by mail by using the downloadable form above your application must be postmarked by the 30-day cutoff or it will not become effective until after the election.

If you miss the 30-day deadline, you can still sign up in time for the election, but you must register in person at the county elections department no later than 15 days before the election.
